Synopsis

There are only a few rules I live enjoy life, smile as often as possible, and don’t ever let a woman come between friends.

Oh and hockey is life.

For the past forty years I’ve done an excellent job at every single one of them.

Until Millie Hall.

To be fair, I had no idea who she was that first night. Can’t say the same about the second.

Finding out that the mystery girl who turned my world upside down was the twin sister of my star left winger and my best friend’s twenty-two year old daughter is less than ideal.

Hiding our relationship from not only her father but my brothers, nearly impossible.

But my best friend makes it incredibly difficult to walk away from his daughter when he keeps thrusting her in my direction.

As a single dad, I have a whole set of new rules, but one thing remains, falling for Millie Hall would be a major puck up.

Author’s A Major Puck Up is an angsty forbidden love between fan favorite Gavin Langfield-Coach of the Boston Bolts and Millie Hall, his best friend's daughter. With text banter from the Langfield brothers, one mysterious baby on a door step, a singing Boston Bolts hockey team, hot tub shenanigans and quite a few ducks.

Review

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

First book of 2025 completed and I liked it. I liked the beginning & most of the end.
The middle was a little... drawn out but I still enjoyed it... and for most of the end I read it but there was some skimming.

Gavin is some part of a hockey team... and the becomes coach. He meets s girl in a bar - Millie and he closes the damn places and gets the action started on the bar.
What he doesn't know is that Millie knows him and she had a plan and that plan is working.

Because she wants to get revenge on her father. Gavin's best friend.

This starts their secret love affair until it comes crashing down. There's about 20 years between them so they're not forced to be on the same page.

Between that happening and them rekindling a baby comes in to the mix and then we hit the slow.

As much as I love the story line... I do have to wonder how Gavin doesn't recognize his best friends daughter. Especially when her twin, Daniel is on his hockey team, and the one he coaches.

ALSO how can a whooooole bunch of people not question the whole baby thing. It was obvious to half asleep me who wasn't even part of the book!
